MTB: I missed out on Donkey Kong Country Returns when it came out on the Wii. I dont know what was coming out around that time that sidetracked me from it, but for whatever reason I never got a chance to play it. I did goof off with it at a friends house a while after its release, and I was surprised at how unimpressed I was with it. I was playing it while he was trying to coax a hard drive back to life, so I thought that I might not have been in much of a mood to enjoy the game. With that in mind I was extremely excited at a second chance to play Donkey Kong Country Returns (DKCR), and on the road no less. Unfortunately, I dont seem to like it as much as anyone else does. It does some impressive work with its level design and it can be challenging, but I cant help but feel that this release is lacking.

Glitch Cat - Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is a pleasant and wildly entertaining game that returns to the series roots, providing gamers everywhere with classic gameplay that brings some new features here and there. While the game might be a tad bit difficult, all the mistakes that happen are completely your own Its a fun trip to the jungle, thats for sure, and if you havent tried this one out before, then nows the perfect time to check it out.

Game Over Online: "Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is an outstanding platformer that falls a bit short of being the best on the system, and while it feels like the most definitive version of DKC Returns yet, it still doesnt feel like the game is as good as it could be. This incarnation is held back by the circle pad-only movement and small screen making some of the more zoomed-out sections hard to see. Its a shame there are still rough edges in it because the original game had some that were cleared up, and then new ones cropped in to replace them."
